So little time, so much to do…… October 15, 2008Posted by mweihl in Uncategorized.

I am not sure where to start, but I will try with this…William is a mover and shaker at 6 months!!!
This week, William had his 6 month wellness visit with Dr. Abby and everything is going really well with little man. As Holly tells it, he was jabbering and crawling all over just like he does at home, which caught the attention of our doctor. He kept asking Holly when his birthday was, and checking, asking and checking and so on a few times during the visit.
Why you might ask is the doctor questioning his charts…well apparently he sees a little baby like William only once a year. WARNING…Parents bragging!!!!! You see, William is already crawling, saying Mama (even if he is not sure why), standing up on his own, sitting up really well and a bunch of the other things we have shared over the months. He can even take a few steps if we hold his hands and lean him forward. Since we see this every day, it’s really normal for us, but Dr. Abby sees a 6 month old this far advanced physically only about once a year and he was genuinely surprised when he saw all the things he could do. As proud parents, we just love it!!!
We also were looking at his his Who Loves Baby picture book with some pictures of our family. We would say where’s Mommy, Daddy, Hudson and Aston and he would put his hand on our pictures. How cool is that to see for the first time.
William also got to get in some “girl” time with all of Holly’s childhood friends from San Antonio. They have stayed in touch all through the years, even through they now live in different cities. They girls all came up to the cabin by Blackhawk that we rent on occasion when we want to hang out in the mountains and had a blast. William went up and hung with the girls and had a wonderful time. It was also a real break for Holly with all the other mom’s there. They would take William and hold him, play and even put him to sleep, giving Holly a chance to relax too. Next year they are all meeting up in Nashville where Brandie lives.
Now some more pictures……
Mama and me…

Well, it’s super official, William is crawling. The other night, Holly and I were watching Little Man in the hall and it looks like he was ready to go the distance. We put some toys out, no luck. Daddy as a target, no luck. Holly came up with an idea to put the space heater, yes space heater, in the hall. BAM…he crawled 5 feet to it and started to play with it. We know…it’s probably not the best idea, but we did get to see him crawl, and that really excited us. He also like remotes (see pictures) and Aquafina bottles.
As I was typing this, Holly called me up to Williams room and what did we see….Him standing up in his bed. He pulled himself right up and was standing over the rail. Uh oh! I tried to change the bed level tonight, but would you believe it, you have to take the entire bed apart to do that. Can you also believe that off all the different sizes of Allen wrenches that I needed, I was missing the one that fit the bed.
For tonight we are putting a bunch of pillows below his bed just in case he decides to try’s to break out. Tomorrow I am making a run first thing in the morning to get my Allen wrench so I can fix his bed.
It’s just amazing how quickly he advances from one skill to the next.
Back to the post..
Today was also Williams first day of real food. Holly mixed up some breastmilk and rice cereal for him for part of his dinner tonight. No photos, but we did take video and I will try to put that up soon. Some of the faces he made were priceless. At times he looked like he was eating a lemon they way he contorted his face. Very Cute!!!
We also went up to the mountains today in our FJ with David, Holli, Faith and Dillon to see the leaves change. We took a trail up into the mountains by Idaho Springs and had a picnic among the trees in this nice clearing. It was a pretty quick picnic since it was pretty cool up there and there was a lot of wind. Holly and William ate in the back of the truck to keep out of the wind.
The trail was not too bad, but we rocked back and forth a lot. William, and I am not sure how he does this, slept all the way up (4 miles) and down (another 4 miles). I guess the rocking and rolling felt good to him.
Here are some more pics from our last week!!!
Series shots of Doodle going for the remote today!!!
What you talking about Daddy?

This post is going to be one of the most difficult ever. William is changing so fast. In the last week, while in St. Louis we had a number of firsts. All the firsts and a trip to boot, this will be a long one.
First Plan Ride – William rode on a plane 4 times on our trip to STL and in one word was AWESOME. You keep hearing us say how good he is, but he really is. I bet there were adults on the plane that caused more problems than Little Man. We traveled very early to and from STL since that is his “good” time of the day and it paid off in spades. On the plane he smiled and joked around and giggled a lot. Holly fed Doodle on take off and landings so his ears would not hurt and he just gobbled away unaware that most people feel pressure in their ears due to the altitude changes. All in all, we do not fret our Thanksgiving trip to San Antonio now.
First Sit – Yup, that’s right. William sat up all without any support (see photo) while at Cheryl’s house. We have been working on this a lot, and he is starting to get the hang of it all. We had to prop him up to start, but once up he could hold himself up all alone. When you hold him you can see him working his core and correcting his balance. I really think he will be quite the athlete when he gets older, if he wants to. That is up to him.
First Crawl – Yup, double that’s right. It was not much, but he did one full crawl at Cheryl’s house on Monday morning. He has been really working out at this for about a month and this week he put 2 and 2 together and got crawl. Hurray for William.
First Wedding – The reason we went to STL was for Cheryl and Ed’s wedding. It was really nice and William had a lot of fun. It started around his bedtime, but he was able to stay up and have a little fun. He even tried to pull Grammy’s (my mom) pearl necklace apart. Luckily we prevented that from happening.
First Cardinals Game – I must say that I was super excited to take Doodle to his first Cardinal’s game with Daddy and Mommy. For those who might not know, I am a huge fan. Growing up in STL, the Cardinals are the toast of the town. Ed has season tickets and gave us 2 seats behind the visitor dugout 7 rows back. I must say, those are the BEST seats I have every had to any sporting event. We were all dressed up in our best Cardinals red and really looked the part. For anyone going to STL, if you get a chance to take in a Cardinals game it’s a real treat. The new stadium looked great and from the time we got in, William was taking in the sights and sounds, until he fell asleep in the 5th inning. I only thought he would last 2, but we stayed until the middle of the 7th. Unfortunately the Cardinals lost to the Diamond Back 4-2.
And the Grand Finale………..
First Tooth – William had his first tooth come in while we were in STL. Mom, Dad and Doodle were up every hour Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun night because he was not sleeping well, but we did not know it was his tooth until Monday. He has a very cute lower middle tooth coming up and we cannot wait to see more.
All in all this was a trip of firsts and we loved every moment with him. He is soooooo cute that people would come up and say how good he was and how adorable he is. Being first time parents, we love to hear that. It’s a little selfish, but hey, we like him and think he is the best gift in the world.
Now onto the photos, and there are a lot this time…..

Well its been a long while since I put anything up, and I cannot think of a good reason for the delay. Sure there is work and William, but William is what this blog is about.
Driving in the car today, Holly was telling me about how Carly and Emily check this blog almost every day and lately there has been no new updates. She told me how they would tell Jill, nothing new today.
That kicked me out of my funk, so here is more about Little Man. Thanks Carly and Emily for helping Uncle Michael get back on track!!!!!
William is a real mover and shaker in his circle. He’s a lot younger than the other kids (went to a 1 yr old party today), but when you set him down he is the center of attention. Why, you may ask….
See, William is very advanced at his age. Each day he is getting closer and closer to crawling. For the last 3 weeks he has been able to get on his hands an knees, rocking back and forth trying to figure out crawling. I guess all the sleeping on his hands and knees is really paying off!! He will also lift a hand off the ground, showing off his wicked agility skills. We also think he is not too far away from sitting up. He can sit on his side with a hand on the ground, but is not too interested in sitting all the way up. I think he has a plan on how this should all work out, so we just go with the flow and let him lead the way.
Next week William takes his first plane ride to St. Louis. He is going to Cheryl’s wedding, with Mom and Dad of course, and will get to go to a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game. William knows that the Cardinals are Daddy’s favorite sports team and getting to go to the game in the new stadium will be really cool. Cheryl’s fiance Ed gave William and Daddy some really cool seats for Dad’s birthday (3 rows from visitor dugout) so we will be able to see all the players and have a great view of the action. They also gave William so neat Cardinals gear so the game pics will have Doodle really decked out, so check back in a week and a half. GO CARDINALS!!!!
Now, without delay a lot of pic’s long overdue!!!
My Cousin Mitch!!!! I had a great time with him and cannot wait to play with all my cousins in San Antonio for Thanksgiving!

So sorry it’s been so long since I have posted. We have been really busy and a lot has been going on.
For all of you who did not know, Holly went back to work last week. So….that means William got to go to Nettie’s house!! Nettie is Little Man’s daycare provider and she is just great. Holly and I went to see her about a month before she went back to work and we really liked her from the start. She has been working with children for about 19 years and treats all the children like family. We decided to go with Nettie (easy decision) because of how she treats the children and all the great things she does with them. Before Hollywent back to work she would tell us that she was getting all the other little ones ready. She let them know William was coming and they all got really excited to meet him.
His first day was Monday of last week and I take him in the mornings and Holly usually picks him up in the afternoon. The first day was really special. When I dropped him off Nettie said she got something for Little Man. I was really surprised when she showed me a new baby crib for William. It was a really nice wood crib for him to take great naps in. I know that he likes taking his little naps there during the day.
Most days we get little notes from Nettie letting us know how his day went, when he ate and slept.
Here is what he did today..
“Ate well, we had a great day telling each other stories, sing, dance. He is pushing up high, so strong. Floor time move move move – Arms and legs going fast. Laughing at me. Lots of love!! Happy Boy!”
These little notes really keep us in tune with the great time he is having. Nettie also does flash cards and is teaching Little Man Baby Sign Language. I never did well with Spanish in college, so lets hope I can pick this up!!!!
We cannot think of anyone else looking after him and feel really blessed that we found Nettie!!!!!
Now on to the pictures…
First day with Nettie, don’t I look cute!!
Day 2, I am a ham for the camera….
Let’s go, I have so much fun during the day!!!!
Sleeping on my tummy when I want to. Look at his little butt in the air, so cute when he sleeps.
Our friends and their little ones….

I love it when daddy lets me wear puppies on my clothes!!!
Rolling..rolling…rolling…. July 11, 2008Posted by mweihl in Uncategorized.

Yup, you guessed it, William has started to roll over. A lot! At first it was a little here, a little there, and sometimes we were not sure if it counted as a roll over. NOW….oh my, you set him down and he rolls over. It’s amazing, in about a week he went from a bump on a log to future Olympian.
Tumbling for the United States of America, William Weihl and his Rolling Routine. Level of difficulty .01! 🙂
William has also started to giggle! Yup, he’s giggling. I told him a joke on Thursday and for some reason he just started to giggle It’s very cute and I have only seen it once, but Holly swears she has heard him a few more times since then. So keep that in mind when you come to visit…have your jokes ready.
We also had visitors over the 4th. Blake and Monna came to visit. Blake and I were able to get in a round of golf on Saturday and Holly and Monna play with her new camera. Monna has a new Cannon and took over 900 pictures of Doodle. She used a burst mode to try and catch his good side when he was not looking. I know everyone wants to see all 900 pictures, but I decided to pick some of the best ones. Hope you like them!!!!
Calgon, take me away….
Don’t tell Mommy I am here, I am hiding from her in this towel. 🙂
She found me!!!
This little piggie went to the market, this little piggie stayed home, this little piggie had roast beef, and this little piggie had none. And this little….DOH!!!
My name is William Weihl and I approve this message!

Hi Papa!!!! June 27, 2008Posted by mweihl in Uncategorized.
Can you believe it, I had my first Father’s Day and it was great. When we woke up in the morning, Holly went and got me a gift from the Puppies (I know, but we love them). They got me a personalized frame with the whole family in the picture. Then I got got a really cute card and present from William. He got me two frames with pictures of him in his favorite Aggie’s gear. Man did he look cute.
After all the cool presents, I did not think the day could get much cooler, but it did. We took William all around town with us, just hanging out as a family. After we had chicken wings at Hooters (Doodle loves that place), he treated Holly and I to a new mattress at Denver Mattress Co. I think he was tired of rolling into the tacos where Holly and I slept!!!
Seriously, this Father’s Day was really cool. Holly and I have been on a great journey and it’s getting better every day we are with him. He is really starting to do some new things now. Just yesterday he rolled over from his back to front all by himself. He can also hold a rattle and put his whole fist into his mouth.
William is also doing really well with his foot and leg. For everyone who has not noticed, Little Man is missing a toe on his left foot. (I will wait for everyone to scroll through the pictures to look real quick) 🙂 We saw Dr. Glancy at Children’s yesterday and had another look at his leg length and foot mobility. All in all things are looking pretty good. His Fibular Deficiency is still mild and the doctor is still very positive about his future. Once we hit a year old we go back and they will be able to predict the length variance between the two legs fairly accurately and will be able to let us know what we’ll expect over the next 15 years. One thing we know now is that we will always have to buy two pairs of shoes since his feet have two sizes. Thanks goodness he is not a girl!!! 🙂 Regardless, William does not know he is missing a toe (he cannot count yet) and loves to stand on his left leg so we think he is going to be walking and running in no time!!
On to the pictures…
Picture from Hudson and Aston…..
Nothing like an Aggie diaper cover to keep Lil Aggie fresh and clean…
Which way to Kyle Field?
Look…Aston got into the game dressed up as Reveille!!!!
Memorial Day…. June 12, 2008Posted by mweihl in Uncategorized.

WOW…I know it’s been a long while since I have been able to post anything, but life has been a little busy lately so we’ll try to get back on our weekly updates in the future. 🙂
Over the Memorial Day holiday Nana and Papa came to visit Doodle and this was the first time Papa (Herb) had a chance to visit. Papa had a great time hanging out with William and spent a lot of time doing tummy time on his chest and rumor has it William had a blast.
A big hit over the holiday was Holly and I going out on a date. Not just a one hour, go to dinner job, but a real night out. Nana and Papa offered to babysit William overnight. WHOA! So, Holly and I got a room at the Omni, saw “Baby Momma” and had a great dinner at the hotel restaurant and slept in. We planned to see the new Indiana Jones movie the next day, but had slept in late and decided to pass. We really missed Doodle all night, but it was really good for Holly and I to have a little time to hang out and relax with just the two of us for just a little while.
Since then we have been very busy. Just today we found William a day care provider (Nettie) who will look after William when Holly goes to work. Nettie is a really sweet woman who cares for about 5 or 6 children in her home and cam with great references. When we met her we planned to only spend about 30 min meeting with her and then head out to dinner. Well, two hours later (and two poops) we left knowing she was the one to take care of our little boy. Sometimes you just know, and that was the case with Nettie.
Nettie has been caring for children for over 19 years and has a fantastic record. She treats all the children like family and has the BEST attitude. Always smiling and very caring toward her little ones. She has a nice home which is kept very clean and all the kids have their own cups and utensils. One thing we really liked is that all the kids just love her and some have been going there for 3 or 4 years, which will be nice for William to have some consistency. Nettie also will babysit for date nights, which will be nice for him to be with a familiar person while we are out cruising the town. Bonus!
What have we been up to…..
Since everyone has been asking about us, I wanted to share a little about what we have been doing.
Holly has been very active with a few new mom groups each week. One at the hospital where we frequent for my emergency room visits (not too often, but they are really fast with my stitches when I need them) and a mom with dogs group. Today Holly took the dogs and William to a dog park which is really good for Hudson and Aston. Our puppies have been so good with William and they deserve some attention too.
Holly also has two friends who are pregnant and she has been helping them out with registering and getting ready for their new little ones. She has also started getting back into her workout routine. She went back to her spinning class and they gave her a big round of applause for getting back into the swing (or spin) of it. She really loves that class and we have to work out between my early meetings to make sure she can keep going.
All in all, I think Holly is the best mom ever and she continues to dote on Doodle and shower him with all the love she has. I could not be more proud of how she has taken to motherhood in the last two months. SHE IS THE BEST!!!!
I have started to get back into my sports. Hockey is going really well and we have a solid team. I play on Sun or Mon nights and luckily we have a lot of early games this season. On Fri nights I play in a coed league with a great group and we just go out and have fun. Sometimes we win, others we lose, but really it does not matter. Hanging out after the game is just as much fun. William has seen me play a few times and when he comes he will take over the group. He is so cute that everyone just wants to look at him and comment on how good he is just hanging out. No fussing, just looking around and enjoying the scene.
I have also been able to start climbing more. I have a new group I am going with and Brynli is a solid climber with a ton of experience. Tara is new to climbing so I can help her out and we are both learning from his experience. I try to go once during the week if things are okay at home and early on a weekend day. This week we went to Boulder Canyon and did a trad (traditional) climb where you have to place your own protection in the rock to catch your falls. This is really what I want to get into so I can finally start using all the gear I have purchased over the last few years and put it to good use. My goal is to be able to lead some easy climbs by the end of the season. 🙂
Most importantly Holly and I are continuing to work as a team to be the best parents we can. This is the start of our journey and it’s just awesome to see William change week over week with his new expressions and talking.
Now to what everyone really wants to see…more pictures of William!!!!! Some are a little dated now, but we are going to get everyone caught up to date.
Nap time in my swing..
Papa…keep a hold of me while I nap please..
Papa is soft to sleep on…

What did we do for mother’s day this year….
First Holly took 8 hours off to nap on Saturday and I got to hang out with Doodle. You may think Holly got the better of the deal, but I think I did.
Second, Holly, Doodle and I all went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast on Sunday and enjoyed a nice morning out together. For some reason I had a sweet tooth and bought a bunch of the candy sticks from their store which I have at my office now. After we got back from our trip Holly took another 4 hour break to attend to herself. Again, I think I got the better end of the deal.
And Finally Holly got a nice Starbucks gift basket from William and I for being the best Mom ever!!!!! She really liked it and kept going on and on about the nice mug. Coffee keeps Mommy happy!!
In honor of Mothers day, here are some pics of just the Moms with William and some cute pics of little man by himself.
Grammy Weihl and Doodle….

Much Better, baby tired!
Keep working Grammy, I’ll sleep soon!

Tummy Time…. May 8, 2008Posted by mweihl in Uncategorized.

Last week we did tummy time with Doodle for the first time. For those without kids, tummy time is to help babies strengthen their back and neck muscles. We only do about 5 or 10 min at a time so he does not overdo his workout. 🙂
A lot of babies do not like to be on their tummies, but Doodle loves it. He will lay there and lift up his head and look around, looking good while he does it. As you will see in the pictures, Aston and Hudson did not want to be left out so they joined in on the fun.
Sniff Sniff! Uh…Diaper change on aisle one please!
I see one, no TWO doggies looking at me!!!
Daddy, what time is it?
Mommy, you smell nice!
Come here Daddy, this mat taste yummy. You should try it!!!

Yawn….I get tired and like to sleep on my Daddy, but Mommy smells better! 🙂
